Have you ever felt like the more things change, the more they stay the same in some respects? Like life keeps putting lessons on your path that are supposed to teach you the same things over and over because you just don't get it quite right? Like everything you read, hear, and learn is part of a series of basic truths, all of which are just retold in different ways by a different author, teacher, songwriter, podcaster, or friend for you to learn from? Like you've heard something a million times, but today it has an entirely new meaning? Yup, me too!
As I reached midlife, it felt natural to reflect on my past experiences and look for truths and new perspectives. I mean, I've been a life-long learner. Education held a place of high priority growing up. And in high school I was first exposed to some new perspectives and mind-opening nuggets that started me on my "self-improvement" journey. Journaling has always been a great tool for me to come to my true self. I've come a long way from my "Dear Diary" days of late elementary school. I have journals stuffed in my nightstand drawer that hold a winding history of my personal growth through high school, college, marriage, motherhood, friendship, jobs, loss, change, and trials.
In my Wisdom Wednesday publications, I intend to explore the basic truths I find life showing me and my clients repeatedly. I'll explore the various voices and ways the truths have been presented to me. I'll build bridges that show how so many seemingly different experiences can be teaching the same lesson. That life keeps going 'round and 'round with its lessons, and it's our job to keep moving forward, keep growing, keep evolving. I’ll pose questions, ask for dialogue, and provide opportunities for self-growth.
I'd love to hear your thoughts, too! Through these stories, we can gain insight into our own lives and discover purpose in what we do. We can also learn from each other’s experiences and how they may have changed over time.
Would you like to dive in deeper, on a personal level? Message me and let's set up a time to meet and see how coaching can help you shift mindsets and implement small changes that can have a big impact on your life.
